Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland November 2023

Winter Wonderland 🥶☃️

Our Winter Wonderland event (come rain or rain!) took place on the evening of Friday 24th November. The event was organised through the parish council and in conjunction with the “With Love, Steph” charity. The event started at 18.00 and there was a great selection of activities including Craft stalls, Cake stall (with takeaway boxes), Piety stall, we sang Christmas Carols,  ate from the BBQ, drank mulled wine, Gaelic coffee (Can't be Irish coffee as the whisky was Scotch😁), and normal tea and coffee too.

We have received the following message from the organisers of the event:

"On behalf of The With Love Steph Charity, we would like to say how grateful we were to be given the opportunity to introduce ourselves and to organise the very first St. Peter and St. Michael's Winter Wonderland.

It was a huge success and a learning curve for us to build for next year when we hope to make it an even bigger event with lots more attraction.  The motto of The With Love Steph is taken from the word fundraising and the idea is when we raise money by organising an event and whoever attends and helps us out is to have fun whilst doing it.

We raised just under £800.00 on the night and it will be split and go towards the Lourdes fund for young parishioners here at St Peters but will also to help with this years 'With Love, Steph' toy appeal which is trying to achieve over 12,000 Santa sacks for families who are in desperate need this year.

A big thank you to all who helped us on the day our fantastic bakers, coffee makers, BBQ chefs and to all who helped putting up the stalls and the lighting for the event also thank you to John and Pauline Glynn for their mulled wine which went down a storm.  We also had a beautiful piety stall. So once again a huge thank you to one and all from With love, Steph.

God bless and see you at the next event."

There was a good turnout on the night and, as can be seen from the photos below, the cold didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves.

Hopefully, as mentioned above, we can make this an annual event in the future.
