The Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child

SPUC is a grassroots campaigning organisation. They defend the right to life from the moment of conception until natural death. In our Christian Life, SPUC is an organisation worthy of support. There are many ethical issues and arguments surrounding the unborn child and the rights of both the child and the woman involved. You can read more about their work, and the arguments made on both sides, here.

They campaign to end abortion in the UK and to resist attempts to legalise assisted suicide and euthanasia.

They are committed to communicating the truth about abortion. SPUC equips its supporters to campaign locally and nationally in a well-informed and effective manner, including letter writing, door-to-door leafleting, petitions and acts of public witness.

SPUC: Roe v Wade

In news from the USA, Roe v Wade was overturned ending 50 years of a constitutional right to abortion. This will save lives. The Church suggests that Catholics have a vital role to play where every life is to be respected, and where no woman feels that abortion is her only choice. SPUC believes it is possible to bring change in the United Kingdom too, so if you would like to be part of the change, please go to www.spuc.org.uk/welcome to find out how you can get involved.

The letter below was received from SPUC in May 2022 regarding the recent change in law regarding abortion pills and their common use in society. The associated brochure can be downloaded via the link at the bottom.
