Tickets for mass
We have now been issuing tickets for mass on a Wednesday evening since reopening for mass six weeks ago. Although there has been a good response we still have spare spaces at each mass. The maximum number at each mass is 40 and so far only one mass in the six weeks has reached this maximum.
After discussion, it has been decided that from Saturday 12th September onwards, you will not need to obtain a ticket in order to attend mass. You will just need to turn up for mass 15 minutes before the start and remain socially distanced whilst queuing.
· In order to meet the requirements of track and trace we are asking you to provide your name and contact number on a piece of paper which will be collected by the steward. This will enable us to get people into mass quickly and on time.
· The door to the church will be locked at the start of mass, so anyone arriving late will not be admitted. The mass times will remain the same.
· Unfortunately once the maximum number for each mass has been reached we will have to turn you away.
We hope that this will enable people to feel more confident about coming to mass and take away the need for a separate journey to collect a ticket. Please be assured that we are continuing to monitor the situation and will respond if the situation changes. We look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Making a donation/ Setting up a Standing Order
Thank you to those giving by standing order. If parishioners don't give by standing order, please consider this. It would be helpful to sign up rather than giving cash during this unprecedented time.
Any parishioners who would like to sign up to standing order, you can download the form to set up a Standing Order below, set it up on your online banking using the information below or please phone Father Gildea and he will put a form for you on the presbytery step.
Alternatively please consider posting the envelopes through the presbytery letter box weekly or monthly.
Many thanks for your continued support if you are able to.

During the lockdown, I’m sure many of you have been concerned, amongst other things, about the build up of collection envelopes over that period, or not being able to contribute to the Parish’s weekly plate collections.
Like most organisations, St Peter’s needs an income in order to operate on a week to week basis. The steady flow of funds provided through the Standing Order system has brought some money into the parish each month. Thank you to those currently donating through Standing Orders.
Maybe, in the light of what has happened, over the last few months, you now wish to consider/reconsider taking out a Standing Order, which will make things a lot easier for yourself, along with moving more of our collections on to a cashless system. I’m sure many of you will have experienced over the last few months more and more shops requiring payment by card to avoid the dangers of transmission through the handling of cash.
A Standing Order arrangement is also helpful to those of you who can’t get to Mass every week, or find Mass times at other churches more convenient, or miss two or three weeks when going on holiday, or have to miss Mass for a variety of other reasons.
If you wish to go down the Standing Order route, all you need to do is complete a Standing Order Authority. These can be downloaded here or the details to set up a standing order with your online banking can be found below, alternatively paper forms can be obtained from Fr Gildea or myself. You can arrange for your donation to be monthly, quarterly or yearly, but not weekly.
Once completed, please take the form to your Bank, and ensure Fr Gildea or myself has a copy for our records.
Alternatively, if you do your banking online, then you will still need a copy of the form for the relevant details. Please, again, ensure we receive a copy of your Standing Order details.
Unfortunately, the Standing Order system only applies to first collections. You will still need a set of envelopes for any second collections.
Finally, if you pay tax and have not signed a Gift Aid declaration, then please seriously consider doing this. It is free money for the parish without costing you any money. Gift Aid forms can be obtained from myself.
Thank you for your support.
Re-opening of St. Peter’s for Mass
We will be re-opening the doors of church for Mass from Saturday 25th July 2020 – however the times of mass will be changing and as the number able to attend is limited, you will need a ticket to attend (including children).
The mass times are:-Saturday 11.00 am/ Sunday 11.00 am/Tuesday 11.00 pm /Thursday 7.30 pm
Tickets for the following Saturday to Thursday can be picked up each week on a Wednesday evening between 6.30 – 7.30 pm from the pavilion in the church garden. When you pick up tickets you will be required to provide a contact number for each ticket issued. The tickets are numbered and they cannot be transferred to someone else. They will not be available from the presbytery.
Church will open 15 minutes before the start of mass and entrance is through the doors on Weir Lane. (The back gate to the garden will be open to allow you to get to the car park and Weir Lane)
You will be required to wear a face mask or face covering and to sanitise your hands on entry and exit.
Volunteer stewards will show you to your seat so we can ensure social distancing and comply with the regulations set out by the Bishops Conference and the government.
It is appreciated that these changes may be difficult but we have to protect our priest, parishioners and the wider community. We look forward to seeing you again from the 25th July.
