A PLEA FOR HELP WITH MASS ATTENDANCES.
Some of you will be aware that last Sunday, due to the number of people who arrived, we were unable to admit everyone who came for mass at 11:00. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened. It is regrettable that we had to do so. I would just like to remind you that we have 3 masses: Saturday 11:00 / Sunday 11:00 / Wednesday 7:30 p.m. All of these masses are said as the ‘Sunday’ mass. Therefore, whichever mass you attend, you are attending ‘Sunday’ mass.
We currently can only allow 40 people in church for each mass, (not including the stewards), which gives us a capacity for 120 across the three masses. We are experiencing a pattern by which the numbers attending on a Saturday and a Wednesday are quite low, the church is less than half full, with a greater demand on the Sunday. Across the three masses, we are only just over half of the overall capacity, which means that there are plenty of places available for everyone if the attendance is levelled out across the three masses. May I ask you to please think about attending on either a Saturday or a Wednesday if you possibly can. This will help to level out the attendance numbers across the three masses, and avoid the situation we had last Sunday.
If you know someone who doesn’t have access to our website, please help us by spreading the word.
Many thanks for your co-operation.

Making a donation/ Setting up a Standing Order
Thank you to those giving by standing order. If parishioners don't give by standing order, please consider this. It would be helpful to sign up rather than giving cash during this unprecedented time.
Any parishioners who would like to sign up to standing order, you can download the form to set up a Standing Order below, set it up on your online banking using the information below or please phone Father Gildea and he will put a form for you on the presbytery step.
Alternatively please consider posting the envelopes through the presbytery letter box weekly or monthly.
Many thanks for your continued support if you are able to.

During the lockdown, I’m sure many of you have been concerned, amongst other things, about the build up of collection envelopes over that period, or not being able to contribute to the Parish’s weekly plate collections.
Like most organisations, St Peter’s needs an income in order to operate on a week to week basis. The steady flow of funds provided through the Standing Order system has brought some money into the parish each month. Thank you to those currently donating through Standing Orders.
Maybe, in the light of what has happened, over the last few months, you now wish to consider/reconsider taking out a Standing Order, which will make things a lot easier for yourself, along with moving more of our collections on to a cashless system. I’m sure many of you will have experienced over the last few months more and more shops requiring payment by card to avoid the dangers of transmission through the handling of cash.
A Standing Order arrangement is also helpful to those of you who can’t get to Mass every week, or find Mass times at other churches more convenient, or miss two or three weeks when going on holiday, or have to miss Mass for a variety of other reasons.
If you wish to go down the Standing Order route, all you need to do is complete a Standing Order Authority. These can be downloaded here or the details to set up a standing order with your online banking can be found below, alternatively paper forms can be obtained from Fr Gildea or myself. You can arrange for your donation to be monthly, quarterly or yearly, but not weekly.
Once completed, please take the form to your Bank, and ensure Fr Gildea or myself has a copy for our records.
Alternatively, if you do your banking online, then you will still need a copy of the form for the relevant details. Please, again, ensure we receive a copy of your Standing Order details.
Unfortunately, the Standing Order system only applies to first collections. You will still need a set of envelopes for any second collections.
Finally, if you pay tax and have not signed a Gift Aid declaration, then please seriously consider doing this. It is free money for the parish without costing you any money. Gift Aid forms can be obtained from myself.
Thank you for your support.
